For those of you who’ve never had hail damage before, the process can seem scary. So to assuage some of your fears, we decided to put together a quick step-by-step guide to get an idea of what you can expect:

1) You’re going to make your claim with your insurance provider. Call the claims number on the back of your card, NOT your agent. And don’t let the claims handler talk you into taking your car to a direct repair shop. Click here for my post on why this may not be a good idea. If they tell you you MUST, just go ahead and get your claim number and call us.

2) Go to the appointment to see the adjuster if they require that. If they allow you to, simply provide our address for the inspection location. We’re happy to handle that inspection along with the rest of the repair process. He/she may come to you at your home or office, or you may have to visit a catastrophe tent, otherwise called a “cat tent,” set up in your area due to the number of claims your insurance company has received.

3) Call us and schedule an appointment to get an estimate. If you’ve done all your research ahead of time and determined we’re your best option (as most people in the Denver, CO area have 😉 😉 😉 click here for proof) you can just call us at 855-830-4245 and schedule a time to drop your car off for the repairs.

4) You’ll come to our shop OR we’ll pick up your car from your home or office, we’ll have you sign a few documents, and then we’ll get you into a rental car (either we’ll bring one to you or we’ll give you a ride up to Hertz/Enterprise. For customers who don’t have rental car coverage, don’t worry, we will cover the cost of the rental for you so you don’t have to be without a car while yours is in our shop.

5) We’ll remove the items we need to to gain access to the underside of the damaged panels. For example, if your front fender has damage, we’ll remove a headlight, if your roof has damage, we’ll remove your headliner, and so on. Do NOT stress out about the R&I (Remove and Install) process required to do Paintless Dent Repair, even if your car is brand new. Remember, we do this for a living, year round, all day every day. We’re VERY good at it.

6) We’ll repair all the dents using paintless dent repair techniques. This technique utilizes specialized tools which flex and bend the metal back to its original location, minimizing the possibility of damage done to the original paint on the vehicle and maintaining the car’s value.

7) We’ll order and replace any necessary parts. Hail typically damages moldings on the door windows, roof drip moldings, pinstriping, headlights, tail lights, or other chrome pieces. We order only OEM parts directly from the dealership (unless your insurance instructs us otherwise).

8) We’ll put the car back together, perform a mini-detail on the exterior and interior of the car, then call you once it’s done.

9) Once you see your completely finished car, you’ll inspect it with one of our technicians to make sure you absolutely love it (which…you will).  From there we grab the keys to the rental car, collect the insurance check, and send you home with a few of our cards to give away to your friends and family. We charge you NO DEDUCTIBLE*, we offer one of the best Lifetime Warranties in the business, and remember, we give $100 referral checks when you refer your friends/family/neighbors/coworkers to use us for their hail damage repair!
